Vintage Wednesday #20
I promised a really great Vintage Wednesday this week, but I should have known I was just going to let you guys down. With my art show so close I don't have the time right now for a full outfit post. I thought about throwing on my new dress that I got in Grand Rapids, but I'm not wearing any make-up today and my hair is a mess. That dress definitely deserves to be displayed for the first time in a much better fashion than I am capable of providing today.
It's not a complete let down though because I did wear my rockin 70's polka dot blazer today for hanging my illustrations. I got this blazer at Ragstock in Chicago. I think I paid about $12 for it. I love the collar, polka dots, and the fit is so perfect! The tag reads, "NPC Fashion."
On my blazer I wore the coolest brooch ever - it's a bow with a white rabbit hanging down from it! I got it at the thrift store for $2 and I love it so much.
As I said above I was able to hang up my illustrations today. So one out of four walls is complete! I went shopping with my step mom for food for the reception today. She's making baklava and chocolate truffles and there will also be hummus and pita chips. We also picked out some really yummy looking wine. I'm so excited! I've done three art shows so far, but never a solo show. I'm nervous, excited, and jittery all at once. Hopefully I don't explode before Sunday, haha. Also today I put in the order for my postcards and they look so good! They will be all ready for me to pick up tomorrow. I'm going to have to do some flyering before work.
Here are a few pictures I took today while Jon and I were setting up:
Well I better get back to painting if I expect to have three more walls worth of art ready by Sunday. This will probably be my last update until after the show, so wish me luck!
