Tuesday Fall Fun Day

So today Jon and I went out with my step-mom for Tuesday Fall Fun Day! It was great! Okay, well it did rain a bit, but other than that Jon and I had such a wonderful time! Autumn in Michigan can't be beat. Okay, well maybe by the east coast, but as far as the midwest goes we have the most beautiful colors here in the mitten.

We started out by going to a cider mill (where we bought some delicious apple licorice):

Then we went to the cottage:

We did some exploring:

And we went to a pumpkin patch!

I wanted to wear a really autumn inspired outfit, so I went for a lot of brown and burnt orange. Yesterday I was trying to pick something out and my bed was a sea of browns, golds, oranges, and reds. Haha. Finally I decided on this outfit. It was so perfect for exploring in the rain. I wasn't cold at all and my feet didn't get wet! I really like the way the navy tights look with the orange skirt. I think it's a good contrast. I'm suprised I found something that I liked actually because I've been getting kind of bored with my wardrobe as of late.

Overall it was a truly amazing day! I think Jon did a really nice job with the pictures today too. Lately he's been getting bored with taking pictures on our front lawn, but today he was so inspired by the scenery and really enjoyed playing photographer! (Thanks love!)

The Breakdown:

Outfit:

Turtleneck: Thrifted
Skirt: American Eagle Outfitters
Blazer: Thrifted
Tights: Thrifted
Boots: Victoria's Secret

Accessories:
Scarf: Thrifted
Hat: Thrifted

Wow, look at that, my whole outfit was almost entirely all thrifted! I love when that happens! It makes me feel so good about not having spent tons of money to look stylish.

Setting up for Halloween!

So, I was a bit embarrassed today when I went to work at the shoe store and they told me that I wasn't scheduled to work. Whoops!

It was sort of a blessing in disguise though because Jon and I were able to do more Halloween decorating.

Jon and I have been slowly setting up for halloween over the past couple of days. Things are really starting to come together now that we've made our crazy old man scarecrow!

Halloween is my favorite day for decorating. When I was growing up we'd always go all out for Halloween (I'm talking 40 pumpkins, scarecrows, monsters...etc.) Jon and I have only been able to do the minimal over the past few years due to living in an apartment. Now that we are in a house we can finally go all out! We had a really fun time putting together scary old man scarecrow a.k.a. 'grandpa'. Haha, he is so creepy!

We've also got a great Halloween playlist together! We are going to scare every kid in the neighborhood for sure!

Tomorrow Jon and I are going to a few cider mills. I am really excited! I've missed fall in Michigan so much! We've been having the best weather for it so far too!
