Space Odyssey

Soooo....I might still have the management job at the theatre! Eeeeekkkk! They are trying to work it out so that I can have a management shift one day a week. So exciting! I just hope that it goes through.

Yesterday I had a projection shift and this is the outfit that I wore. I got to build 2001: A Space Odyssey!!!!!!!! You guys have no idea how happy that made me! Kubrick is one of my favorite directors, and I love 2001, so by building up the print I felt like I was a part of the experience in a way. It's hard to explain my passion for film, but I just love the whole process. Being up in the booth with such an amazing master piece was so exciting. Most films come on 6 reels, but this one came on 10 reels! What a monster!!!

I looked a bit more summery in my outfit yesterday. It's been so hot lately that I haven't been able to utilize my fall clothing. It was nice to dress a bit lighter though. There aren't going to be too many more days of that, so I might as well take advantage of it. I really like the way the two blouses worked layered together. The necklace that I'm wearing in these pictures broke today. I was so disappointed!!

The Breakdown:

Outfit:

Sleeveless Blouse: Thrifted
Blouse: Old Navy
Skirt: No Appt. Nessasary, Thrifted
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Nine West, Sale

Accessories:
Necklace: Thrifted

Job Update/Life Update/Clothes Update

So, a lot has been going on in the life of Cat these days. I applied to be a manager at the theatre where I work. I didn't quite make the cut because the person that I was up against had already held the job in the past. This really disappointed me, but at least I tried, right? I am going to be doing more projection work over the next month, so I am really looking forward to that.

I was reading Vogue yesterday and of all places found this quote from Keats: "I was never afraid of failure for I would sooner fail than not be among the greatest."

Reading that gave me strength and made me glad that I at least went for the position and gave it my all, rather than giving up.

I also had an interview today for a seasonal job at DSW. It was a group interview and I have to be honest, once I found that out I considered not going. I am horrible at group interviews. I hate being fake towards people and in those situations usually the person who is the most fake gets the job. I went anyway, because I figured that I have nothing to lose. I'll find out within the next two days whether or not I'll be offered the job. I really hope I get it, Jon and I really need the money and it would be so much fun to be around all of those amazing shoes all day!

This outfit is from yesterday. I wore it for some thrifting. (I told you guys I love brown, haha!) My step-mom has put me on a mission to find some stuff for her halloween costume, so I'm on the hunt. I didn't find anything for her costume, but I did find these two items for myself:

Oh and also as promised here are my new hair pieces + a new hat! The hair pieces are from Ren Fest and the beret is from a co-worker of mine. Aren't they so amazing? I can't wait to style them!

The Breakdown:

Ren Fest

Hello lovely ladies (and gents)! Yes, yes I'm back. I know I keep disappearing and breaking all of your little hearts. I'm so sorry! I've just been such a busy, busy bee.

Today I went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival with my family. I should have a really awesome outfit to show you, right?

Haha, wrong. This is what i wore today:

The truth is for as long as I've been going to Ren Fest (15 years?) I've never actually had a costume. Although I did realize later on today that I actually have a belly-dancer-ish dress in my 'prop box' that I could have worn. Grrr! It'll have to wait until next year now.

My step-mom bought me a beautiful feather headband as a late birthday present. It's a blueish-green color. (To match my eyes!) I haven't taken a picture of it yet, because the cats are getting too excited about the prospect of tearing it to shreds. I am going to have to wait until they have forgotten about it before I can show you!

Well, Sadly my dears this busy bee really wants to get going to bed, so I'll leave you with a few more pictures from a few days ago that I never posted and then I am off to sleep-land. I have a whole bunch of days off this week, so I'll be posting more over the next few days.

Ohhh, I am really loving being able to wear fall clothes!
