Dinosaurs!

This is by far my favorite t-shirt! It's from the Field Museum in Chicago, but I got it from a thrift store in Michigan. Although at the time that I bought it I was living in Chicago! Confusing, eh? This shirt glows in the dark, so right there it already beats out the majority of non-glow-in-the-dark shirts! I wanted to show off my new pretty button down shirt, but it was a little big just worn unbuttoned with the tee, so I decided to tie it at the waist.

I haven't worn my shirt tied up like this since the late 80's/early 90's!! Haha!



























This outfit feels like a perfect transition from summer to fall. Not only just by looking at it, but as I'm wearing it that's how I'm feeling as well. Fall is definitely my favorite season for styling clothes (and my favorite for many other reasons), but I'm still trying to hang on to the last bit of summer.

No Vintage Wednesday/Thursday This Week

No time for Vintage Wednesday this week (or Vintage Wednesday on Thursday). My mom just had surgery and she's staying with me for a few days, so I'm too busy to update.

Swim Date

I forgot to take my camera with me today, so these photos were taken with Jon's iphone camera. We had a wonderful date day! We went swimming at our city's public pool, had a picnic, and saw Inception. Inception was good, but not as good as I thought it was going to be. I really felt it could have pushed the strangeness level of the dream sequences a lot further. We were going to stay and sneak into Scott Pilgrim, but Jon decided against it at the last minute. I really want to see that movie again, it was so amazing!!


This dress was perfect for a swim date because it doesn't have a zipper or any other sort of enclosure. You just slip it off, go swimming, and slip it back on! It does have a cute tie in the back though.


Okay, well I'm going to keep things short tonight because Jon and I are going to watch a Radiohead documentary now. Good night!

Birthday Girl

Yesterday was my birthday! I am now 27 years very old. I'm no longer in my mid-twenties!! Shhhh, don't tell anyone!

Other than becoming an old lady it was a really nice, laid back birthday.

In the morning I went out with Jon, my dad, and my step-mom to the Grosse Pointe Woods Park. It's a private park for city residents on Lake Saint Clair. In my opinion it's the best park in the Metro Detroit area. I loved it so much growing up as a kid and I still feel the same joy and excitement about going there all of these years later.











After that I went to the Pierogi Festival in Detroit with Jon, my step-mom and step-sister. It was held at the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church where Jon and I got married! This is honestly the most beautiful church that I've seen in the U.S. You really feel like you're somewhere either in Europe or in a fairy tale when you're inside.

There was food, music, dancing, and a resale shop where I got three purses and a necklace for $4.25 total!!!

After the festival Jon and I went to see Scott Pilgram vs The World. (And it was GREAT!!!!) We had free passes from my work, so we didn't have to pay either! We wanted to get ice cream before the movie, but since we were down there at 11 PM on a Sunday night every place was closed! So we walked around downtown Birmingham and took some outfit pictures before the movie instead.





























I have to the mention that the lovely Lauren of Sparrow and Urchin let me borrow this beautiful vintage dress for my birthday! The floral print is just so pretty! I like the fact that there's a small border of the floral pattern around the neck because it keeps the pale yellow from framing my face. I love yellow, but it always intensifies my pink skin! The dress was so lightweight and airy and perfect for a pierogi/polka festival in the Mid-August heat. I wish I had a petticoat though to really be able to make the skirt show off its full potential!
