Goodness I am tired today!!


This is what I ended up wearing to my meeting about volunteering at the art museum. I am really excited about it. I've got a lovely packet of information to read over tonight. It makes me feel more active. With only working part time I've been feeling pretty lazy lately. So, this gives me an opportunity to get things back on track.

I was so happy to wear this straw hat today, but then as I was leaving the house my husband made me take it off. He said I couldn't wear it to Detroit because it made me look too nice.














Have a great Memorial Day weekend!! I'll be spending my extra long weekend at work.

Tomorrow I am going to an information session for a volunteer position at one of the art museums downtown. Eek! I am excited, but I don't know what to wear yet. Should I dress as if I'm going to an interview? Or more casual? Decisions, decisions.


Well, the husband is trying to get me to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 with him, so I should go have some husband time now. Bye!

Tripod Newbie

So, today was my first day using a tripod to shoot my pictures outside. Usually my husband takes my pictures, but I was in Royal Oak working today and wanted a change of scenery.

I love the train tracks there. Every time I'm over there, I'm always like, "this would be a perfect place for pictures!" Until now I just hadn't been able to brave shooting pictures of my myself alone yet. Out of embarrassment, not fear that someone will take my camera. The weird thing is that I'm a filmmaker, so I'm use to shooting film outside by myself. Once I'm in front of the camera though, it's a whole different story!

This is proof of why I might want to stick to letting my husband take pictures though:





Look how angry I look!!!! The truth is that the sun was in my eyes, but dang do I look pissed.


I tried to smile in this one. It's not entirely convincing, but it's a start.





I wish I was wearing a cuter outfit today instead of my work shirt. Don't get me wrong, I love our new work shirts!! The shirts are from American Apparel and the design has a film projector/projectionist/film reels on it! The outfit just didn't feel right for the day that I finally mustered up the courage to take pictures by my 'ideal' location. You know? It should have been a little more...special.

P.S. I started my garden in my backyard yesterday!!!!! Well, my husband did most of the work, but I helped a little. We only planted tomatoes and green beans so far, but I'm going to plant more tomorrow. Yay!!

Pee Wee and Lost = Great Weekend

What a great weekend!!! Saturday night I went to see Pee Wee's Big Adventure on the big screen. I haven't watched that movie in at least 5 years. I was laughing so hard!!

Then last night was the season finale of Lost! Goodness I am sad that it is over. I won't say too much in case anyone reading this hasn't seen it yet (and wants to see it). My initial reaction was that I loved the finale up to the last 10 minutes. I really didn't like the ending. However, now that I've had nearly 24 hours to mull it over, I am feeling more comfortable with the way it ended.

This outfit is from Saturday night when I went to the movie. It was so foggy out when we were coming home. I love the way fog photographs. I wish I had been taking pictures with my film camera instead of my digital one. Ah, well.











I love the blouse I'm wearing. The little tie in the front is so adorable and fun. Also, I like the little splash of yellow in it. This is usually my go-to blouse for interviews. Saturday night proved that it can look nice in a casual setting too!

Yesterday I wore a black dress in mourning of the end of Lost, but I didn't take pictures. Sorry, I was being lazy!

Today I was watering my flowers and I noticed these beauties in my backyard! They are actually a little more purple than they appear in the photo. One of the many things I love about having a backyard is that there are different flowers out there every time I go outside!





Guess what?!? The She & Him show is just around the corner!! Yay!!
