Jon, my brother, and myself all went to see Exit Through the Gift Shop last night. The movie was AMAZING! I wanted to see it when it came out, especially because we were going to pre-screen it at work, but I just didn't have time with getting ready for the cruise.
The movie was clever, funny, political, thought-provoking...all of the things I love in a story.
So, it was a great time and we all enjoyed it. Well, then I pick up the Metro Times and read that Banksy has been hitting various US cities over the past few weeks with his art; Detroit included!
It turns out most of the stuff from Detroit has already been destroyed or taken, but there was still one up in Warren, not too far from where I live! So I went driving down Van Dyke, thinking I'd really have to look hard for it. And there it was! Right there on Van Dyke, facing the street!
Yes, I'm an art geek, but it was really exciting to me! It was like the rush that I assume most people get when they see a celebrity. Me? I get turned on by some paint on a wall.
