Big Weekend

Well, I sure have a lot of material to get through, so brace yourselves!

This first outfit I wore on Friday to the Detroit Institute of Arts for the Oscar Nominated Short Films. I saw both the animated and the live action shorts. All of them were wonderful. Okay, there were a few that I had some criticisms for, but overall I thought it was a top notch selection. I hope the Wallace and Gromit one (A Matter of Loaf and Death) wins for the animated category. Kavi should win for the live action category.

The Breakdown:

This 2nd outfit I wore for the house warming party that I had for my side of the family this Saturday. It was really nice to have everyone over. We talked, listened to records, and had an early dinner. I was thrilled that my grandma was able to come. She was in the hospital the week before, so I wasn't sure if she'd be able to attend or not. We're having a 2nd house warming party for Jon's family once the weather warms up. He has a huge family, so we'll have to utilize our backyard to accommodate everyone.

Jon was very proud to have worn his Zelda shirt (which I bought for him) to the house warming party:

Look at how spic and span our room looked:

By the way, I am soooooo happy that February is over! It really is my least favorite month. Now that March is here spring is just around the corner! I finally get to experience spring again now that I'm back in Detroit. In Chicago the weather stays cold until about May and then all of the sudden it's 90 degrees.

Anyway, the other day when I was cleaning for the party I came across a flower button and a little red bow and decided to make hair clips out of them:

I am proud of myself because this year I really want to try to be more crafty. It's not much, but it is a start.

Finally, I'll leave you with some evil kitty pictures:
